Football Betting Lines

07/10/2009 - Winnipeg, MB (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Stefan LeFors finished just 13-of-27 for 156 yards and an interception but threw for two touchdowns as Winnipeg downed Calgary, 42-30, from Canad Inns Stadium.

Terrence Edwards caught a pair of TD passes and Lavarus Giles rushed for two more scores for the Blue Bombers (1-1), who also got an interception return for a touchdown from Siddeeq Shabazz.

Henry Burris threw for 247 yards on 25-of-39 completions and also rushed for a touchdown but was picked off three times for the Stampeders (0-2). Jeremaine Copeland caught four balls for 62 yards and a score while Teyo Johnson added a catch for a score.

An interception near mid-field early in the third quarter set up a two-yard run by Giles, and it looked like the Bombers were en route to a blowout up 28-4, but the Stamps went 64 yards two series later and cut their deficit to 28-10 after Joffrey Reynolds scored from the one.

Burris ran for a score then his pass led to a successful convert early in the fourth and Calgary found itself down by just 10. However, Burris was picked off by Shabazz who hit the end zone 36 yards later and Winnipeg had a 35-18 edge.

Giles capped a brief drive on a four-yard run with a little more than 2 1/2 minutes left in the contest, but backup signal-caller Barrick Nealy hit Copeland for a 25 yard score with 1:42 to go. Calgary then recovered the ensuing onside kick after a rush conversion came up short.

Johnson capped that drive with a 12-yard TD reception from Nealy and the Stamps got within 42-30, but the conversion pass failed and the Bombers ran out the remaining seconds.

Winnipeg took a quick 10-0 lead in the first, as Alexis Serna nailed a 24-yard field goal and LeFors connected with Edwards on an eight-yard TD. Sandro DeAngelis drilled one from 45 yards out, then the Stamps picked up a single early in the second.

Serna added a 40-yarder for a 13-4 game, then missed a 58-yard attempt for a single. The Bombers completed the half with another touchdown, this time a 12- yard reception by Edwards and it was 21-4 at the half.
