ATLANTA (AP) - New Jersey Nets coach Avery Johnson says backup guard Quinton Ross will likely miss the remainder of the season because of a back injury.

Johnson said before Saturday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks that Ross has ``another disc situation'' in his back. Ross missed 12 games earlier this season with a back injury. He missed his fifth straight game against the Hawks.

Ross, in his seventh season, is averaging 1.6 points.
